S. GRAY MCCLATCHY, MD

Samuel Gray McClatchy, MD specializes in adult and pediatric sports medicine, open and arthroscopic surgery of the shoulder, elbow, hip, and knee, and shoulder and knee joint reconstruction. Fellowship-trained in orthopaedic sports medicine, Dr. McClatchy helps patients overcome injury and pain to regain mobility and function.

Dr. McClatchy grew up with a love of science and engineering. Combining those interests with personal patient interaction and the ability to meaningfully impact the lives of others made medicine an easy choice. He chose orthopaedics specifically because mobility and orthopaedic injuries are something that affects everyone. It offers the ability to greatly help a wide variety of patients by relieving pain and restoring function.

Dr. McClatchy went to medical school at University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock, AR. He completed an Orthopaedic Surgery Internship and Orthopaedic Surgery Residency at Campbell Clinic Orthopaedics/University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, TN. Finally, he obtained an Orthopaedic Surgery Sports Medicine Fellowship from Mississippi Sports Medicine and Orthopaedic Center in Jackson, MS and Tulane University in New Orleans, LA.

In his spare time, Dr. McClatchy enjoys spending time with his wife and extended family. He likes to stay active, and his hobbies include distance running, road biking, golfing, hiking, and woodworking. He’s an avid fan of college and NFL football and NCAA baseball. Unfortunately, he cheers for the two most frustrating teams in America, the Mississippi State Bulldogs, and the Dallas Cowboys.
